Where iconic Hawaiian legacy meets modern luxury
Coco Palms Resort is set on Kauaʻi’s eastern shore and represents the restoration of an iconic Hawaiian landmark. This historic property, destroyed in 1992 by Hurricane Iniki and made famous by Elvis Presley’s “Blue Hawaii” in 1961, is being carefully restored to honor its storied past. The features a historic lagoon and sits adjacent to a 15-acre coconut grove that will once again become the centerpiece of this celebrated destination.
The reimagined Coco Palms will feature 350 hotel rooms under the Kimpton flag. The resort’s design includes solar and energy-efficient building systems, three restaurants, four F&B outlets, and 22K square feet of meeting space. Amenities include three swimming pools, a 10K square foot spa, and a 300-seat cultural center that will enhance the guest experience.
Coco Palms sits in the heart of Wailua, the historic home of the Ali’i (Hawaiian royalty), and our vision is for the restored Coco Palms to honor the pre-contact history of Wailua by re-discovering, protecting, and celebrating this historic place through educating and reconnecting the global community to the legacy and spirit of this land. This landmark property is projected to welcome guests again in 2027, offering a rare chance to be part of Kauai’s most anticipated resort restoration.
